The Gross deck is a simple structure providing easy access from the home to the outdoors.
The original deck was the same size however the construction was much different. The new deck has 6” x 6” pressure treated posts and a cantilever beam to support the main structure. The new 5/4” x 6” select-grade pressure treated deck boards provide a stable base for the deck and stairs. The colonial rail system also allows for ease of removal of debris from the deck surface.
A concrete pad was placed at the base of the stairs to provide a solid foundation when entering into the back yard. This pad also provides a barrier against the runoff that occurs in this area of the yard.
The stair structure is also built with a landing, providing an area to sit and watch the kids playing on the swing set.
